Open Position for Post-Doctoral Fellow

The Departments of Industrial Engineering and Civil Engineering at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a 12 month PostDoctoral Fellow position with an anticipated start date of February 2018.

The Post‐Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for studying truck parking locations, routing, and scheduling in regards to US Hours of Service regulations. The one year position requires expertise in algorithm development and coding, optimization modeling and method development, machine learning and analytics applied to large data sets, database programming, and development of web‐based

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) tools. This position will contribute to the interdisciplinary team across the Civil and Industrial Engineering departments at the University of Arkansas. .  This postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Dr. Hernandez from the Civil Engineering Department and Dr. Nurre from the Industrial Engineering Department.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related field. They should also have expertise in algorithm development and coding, optimization modeling and method development particularly in network optimization and scheduling, machine learning and analytics applied to large datasets, database programming (specifically PostgreSQL), and development of web‐based Geographical Information Systems (GIS) mapping tools.
